5 Days in Park City –
The Ultimate Itinerary

In 2002, Park City helped host the memorable Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Today, this charming mountain town continues to be most popular in the winter for its Park City skiing and ski resorts, but also offers ample entertaining activities and attractions in the warm weather months. Plus, it’s easy to reach: Park City is just a 40-minute drive from Salt Lake City.

Whether you’re heading to Park City for skiing and snowboarding or you’re in this charismatic town of 8,000 permanent residents for summertime fun, something delightful for everyone is guaranteed.

Here is our guide for what to do for five days in Park City:

Day 1

Morning:

Ensure your Park City visit gets off to a smooth start by letting the travel specialists at KEY organize a private airport transfer for you. Simply send in your flight details and we’ll do the rest. When you breeze through the baggage claim and into arrivals, a private driver will be waiting, ready to take you to your Park City home.

Afternoon:

On your first day in Park City, head downtown for a leisurely stroll to take in the 19th-century charm of historic Main Street. Make it an afternoon to remember with a downtown walking food tour. An expert local guide will lead you through the town’s finest eateries to sample Wild West cooking with a contemporary twist, as well as French, Italian, and Mexican cuisine in some of Park City’s best restaurants. In between enjoying culinary delights, discover the downtown area and fascinating history of this former silver mining town.

Evening:

Most people have heard of the long-established Sundance Film Festival, the celebration of independent film that takes place in Park City each January. But it doesn’t have to be the first month of the year for you to enjoy Sundance when visiting Park City. Stop by the Sundance Institute, home of the festival, to check out their regular events. Catch a special screening and engross yourself in the magic of movies.

Day 2

Morning:

What better way to start your day than with some outdoor recreation and fresh mountain air? Meet your expert local for a guided hike taking in verdant woodland and 19th-century silver mine facades amid the beautiful Park City mountain landscapes. This custom experience is tailored to suit your ability and sightseeing preferences.

Afternoon:

After your hike, wind down with a visit to the Park City Museum which is partly housed in the town’s original 19th-century City Hall. Excellent displays, films, and interactive exhibits reveal the history of Park City — from the creation of local silver mines in 1868 to the city’s reinvention as a ski resort town when the price of silver plummeted in the 20th century.

Evening:

Relax in the safe hands of a professional masseuse who will ease away any aches or stiffness remaining from your morning hike during an indulgent in-home massage. A premier local therapist will set up a full relaxation station in your Park City home and work magic on your muscles with a 60 or 90 minute Swedish or deep tissue massage.

Day 3

Morning:

Take it easy for the morning and let KEY do all the work by delivering breakfast straight to your dining table. Wake up and be ready to savor a delicious morning feast of croissants, muffins, cream cheese bagels, breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches, and of course, steaming cups of coffee.

Afternoon:

If Park City is a winter wonderland when you visit, there are ample opportunities to experience Park City skiing on the world-class slopes at Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain. For further exhilarating winter activity, let the local experts at KEY organize a snow-sledding adventure on which a team of friendly huskies will pull you along private trails through snow-covered meadows in the scenic Wasatch and Uinta Mountains.

Evening:

After your afternoon outdoor recreation you may have developed a thirst. Stop by the Fox School of Wine on Main Street for an entertaining evening of wine tasting. The knowledgeable team there can guide you through a session tasting five carefully selected wines, enhanced by fascinating detail about the wineries, grapes, and regions, as well as inspired food pairing suggestions.

Day 4

Morning:

After waking up, make the short journey over to Deer Valley for a unique, luxury outdoor dining experience in a life-size Alpenglobe. A transparent, climate-controlled snow globe, for up to six people, awaits you on a mountain lodge deck. Relish a breakfast to remember — fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, bagels, croissants, and eggs to order — while taking in panoramic mountain views of Deer Valley (Please note: lunch and dinner are also available).

Afternoon:

A 15-minute drive from downtown Park City, Utah Olympic Park is the expansive winter sports venue where the 2002 Winter Olympics were held. Take a guided tour to discover the site and hear tales of achievement that bring the Games to life before exploring the Alf Engen Ski Museum and taking the shuttle bus to the top of the world’s highest Nordic ski jump.

Evening:

Sure, the Park City area has plenty of wonderful restaurants, but for tonight dine in celebratory style — at home. The hospitality experts at KEY can arrange for a lavish five-course meal (for five or more guests) to be prepared by a top local chef in your Park City home. Customized to your tastes, you can choose from menus featuring mouthwatering dishes such as Alaskan salmon with mango salsa, grilled beef tenderloin with Gorgonzola herb butter, and chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and prosciutto.

Day 5

Morning:

If you’re visiting Park City in the warm weather months and want to maintain your golf game, book yourself a tee time at Canyons Golf. Just a 10-minute drive from downtown Park City, the challenging layout of the course is kept in immaculate condition, while views of the surrounding mountains guarantee you a spectacular nine or eighteen holes of golf.

Afternoon:

After lunch, take a 30-minute drive over to the High West Distillery where you can enjoy a fascinating guided tour. Friendly and knowledgeable guides walk you through the distillery revealing the secrets of barreling and aging the single malts, ryes, and bourbons in production. Afterwards, relax in the tasting room while savoring some of High West’s most refined whiskeys.

Evening:

Celebrate your last night in Main Street’s bars and restaurants. Do it in style with a private driver to pick you up, drop you wherever you want to go, and then bring you back home again. Try Alpine Distilling Bar for crafted cocktails amid an upbeat ambience and elegant surroundings, Grappa for classic Italian dishes and impeccable service in rustic dining rooms, or Chimayo for exquisite Southwestern cuisine in a warm, wood and tiled interior.
