After spending more than eight years in public relations with a global focus on travel, lifestyle and luxury goods and services, Kristin joined the KEY team as our local San Diego concierge. Over the years, she’s cultivated a repertoire of favorite dining, retail, leisure and outdoor experiences in the city and continues to bring the absolute best of San Diego right to our clients.

We sat down with Kristin to delve deep into what it’s like to be a native San Diegan, her best-kept secrets in the city and all things concierge life. Here’s what she had to say.

What are three words that best describe you?

Curious, tenacious and adventurous.

How do you stay in touch with what’s going on in your city?

I’m always out and about, trying new things and meeting new people. I have a very diverse group of friends and colleagues that keep me abreast with some of our city’s best and most unique offerings.

What do you do for fun in San Diego?

No two days are ever the same. I’m often at the beach, playing tennis or checking out new restaurants around town.

What is your favorite cafe or neighborhood bar?

Lofty Coffee in Little Italy and Kettner Exchange for a rooftop bar.

Do you have a favorite life or travel motto?

“You can’t live a FULL life on an EMPTY stomach.”

What is a local hidden treasure you shouldn’t miss?

Don’t miss the secret swings or the “Sand Castle” mansion in La Jolla.

What is one piece of advice you would give to people visiting San Diego for the first time?

Don’t try to hit every single attraction or amusement park. Pick your top one or two, and do it right. You’re going to want to spend time at the beach, on the water or at one of our famous breweries (not in an endless line!).
